Going to fantasy genre again after his voice work in "The Golden Compass", Ian McShane has signed on to star in "The Dark Is Rising", a fantasy project coming from the 20th Century Fox and Walden Media.
The first film adaptation of Susan Cooper's acclaimed "The Dark Is Rising Sequence", the picture focuses on an ordinary boy named Will Stanton, the last member of a group of immortal warriors fighting the forces of the Dark named the "Old Ones". Through a series of mysterious clues, he later discovers that the Dark once again rises and it's all up to him to save the future of the world.
Bradley Cooper Has "Case 39" to Solve

Bradley Cooper, previously known for his portrayal in such films as "Failure to Launch", "Kitchen Confidential" and "Alias," is now taking part in the horror thriller "Case 39". The actor is joining fellow movie stars Renee Zellweger and Ian McShane.
"Case 39" centers on an idealistic social worker, Zellweger's role, who saves an abused 10-year-old girl from her parents only to discover that things are not as they appear. Cooper is slated to play a detective who is the love interest of Zellweger's character.
Stars Added to the Cast of "Shrek the Third"

DreamWorks Animation announced Thursday July 13th, that the final cast for its upcoming computer-animated comedy "Shrek the Third" has been set. The studio will keep maintaining the flick's original cast from "Shrek" and "Shrek 2", Mike Myers, Eddie Murphy, Cameron Diaz, Antonio Banderas, Rupert Everett, Julie Andrews and John Cleese.
Joining the cast for "Shrek the Third" is an all-new ensemble of actors and comedians. They among others are Amy Sedaris as Cinderella, Amy Poehler as Snow White, Maya Rudolph as Rapunzel and Cheri Oteri as Sleeping Beauty. Also joining the hit animated comedy's cast are Ian McShane as Captain Hook, John Krasinski as Sir Lancelot, and Monty Python veteran Eric Idle as Merlin the magician.

Doing action movie is not a new thing for Angelina Jolie, but providing voice in an action animation is a completely new experience for the sexy actress.
It is reported by USA Today that Jolie has been set to provide the voice of a martial-arts master named Tigress in DreamWorks Animation's "Kung Fu Panda", coming to theaters in May of 2008.

Widely known for his role of historical figure Al Swearengen in the HBO series "Deadwood", Ian McShane is next billed to provide his voice in the upcoming films of "Coraline" and "Shrek the Third".
There in "Coraline", which is of Henry Selick's direction and is based on Neil Gaiman's children's book of the same name, Ian McShane plays a sad Russian giant, about which the actor revealed "It's a small part, but it's lovely. Those things are fun to do, they really are. You go in a day and it's a chance to do something different, play around, and exercise your voice."
More Cast for Kung Fu Panda
November 10, 2005 03:11:41Based on the announcement outed by DreamWorks Animation, the like of Jackie Chan, Dustin Hoffman, and Ian McShane are joining Jack Black in the cast of the computer-animated comedy "Kung Fu Panda." Meanwhile, award-winning actress Lucy Liu is still in talks to lend her voice in the animation movie.
As of Black, he is set to voice Po the Panda, the laziest of all the animals in the Valley of Peace. Hoffman will voice the role of Shifu, while Chan will lend his voice to Master Monkey. McShane is about to voice the villainous Tai Lung, while Liu is in discussions to be the voice of Master Viper.
