AceShowbiz - James Bond has captivated audiences for over 60 years with his adrenaline-fueled secret missions to exotic destinations. Now, the search is on for the latest actor to take on the iconic role of 007, with frontrunners including Tom Hardy, Henry Cavill and Cillian Murphy.

Throughout the franchise's history, six actors have portrayed the British spy. They are Sean Connery (1962-1971), George Lazenby (1969), Roger Moore (1977-1985), Timothy Dalton (1985-1989), Pierce Brosnan (1995-2002) and Daniel Craig (2006-2021).

With rumors swirling about the next James Bond film, bookmakers have identified Michelle Keegan and Maya Jama as strong contenders for the role of the next Bond Girl. Michelle, known for her roles in "Fool Me Once" and "Ten Pound Poms", is currently favored by bookmakers, while Maya, the host of "Love Island", has seen her odds halved.

Other actresses who have been mentioned as potential candidates for the role include Jodie Comer, Margot Robbie, Florence Pugh, Sydney Sweeney and Emma Mackey.

Earlier reports suggested that Aaron Taylor-Johnson (Aaron Johnson) had been offered the role of James Bond, but these rumors have since been squashed. However, the expectation remains that the upcoming film will mark a significant departure and revamp for the franchise.

In addition to the casting rumors, it has been reported that Cillian Murphy may portray the villain in the upcoming Bond film, joining the ranks of notable antagonists such as Christoph Waltz and Rami Malek. Phoebe Waller-Bridge, who contributed to the script for "No Time to Die", is also rumored to be co-writing the screenplay for the next installment.
