The 66-year-old record executive insists that he remains in touch with his two daughters despite his Instagram post, in which he seemed to beg his daughter Aoki to call him.

AceShowbiz - Russell Simmons has spoken on her relationship with his daughters after Aoki Lee Simmons made headlines with her romance with a much-older man. The record executive has insisted that he talks to his two children from his marriage to ex-wife Kimora Lee Simmons on daily basis despite his previous post, in which he seemed to beg his daughter Aoki to call him.
Russell defended his relationship with his daughters when an Instagram user told him, "Call her, even if she doesn't answer" in response to his Instagram post. Setting things straight that he remains in touch with his daughters, he then replied in the comments section, "what makes u think i dont ? of course i call both of my daughters daily."
Russell previously posted a picture of him with his daughter Aoki seemingly to show his support after she was spotted kissing her 65-year-old boyfriend Vittorio Assaf. "Love you always, I'm always waiting for any call any time," he wrote in the caption.
The father of two, however, later edited the caption to read, "Throw back from last fathers day nyc ...bode bikram yoga express class .. vegan lunch cryotherapy vitamin drip ... all around amazing day @aokileesimmons love you always."
Russell's comment to the fan's remark comes after a video surfaced of his awkward conversation with Aoki in the past. In the said clip, the 21-year-old model threatened her father that she would find a sugar daddy if he didn't increase her allowance. The 66-year-old entrepreneur, who appeared shocked and concerned in the clip, responded by telling the Harvard graduate that she "won't" do such a thing and reminded her that "God is watching."
The age gap between Aoki and Vittorio has drawn comparisons to her parents, who met when Kimora was 17 years old. Besides Aoki, former spouses Russell and Kimora share 24-year-old daughter Ming Lee Simmons.
