AceShowbiz - Angie Harmon is mourning the death of her dog. On Monday, April 1, the former "Law & Order" star took to her Instagram account to share that her dog was fatally shot by a delivery driver outside her home in Charlotte, North Carolina.

In her post, Angie revealed that a man delivering groceries for Instacart got out of his car and shot their pet Ollie on Saturday. "He shot our dog with my daughters and myself at home and just kept saying, 'Yeah, I shot your dog. Yeah I did.' "

The actress shared that the incident left her and her family "completely traumatized." She added, "[We are] beyond devastated at the loss of our beloved boy and family member."

Angie further noted that the man was not arrested despite the cruelty. She wrote, "The police let him go b/c he claimed 'self defense', " even though "he did not have a scratch or bite on him nor were his pants torn."

In her post, Angie revealed the identity of the Instacart driver. "He was shopping under a woman’s identity named Merle… the pic is on my story," so he divulged.

Instacart, on the other hand, has issued a statement in response to the incident. "We were deeply saddened and disturbed to hear about this incident," the retail company told USA TODAY. "We have no tolerance for violence of any kind, and the shopper account was immediately suspended from our platform."

Meanwhile, the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department learned in their investigation that the driver arrived at the home and delivered the order. "The driver told officers that a dog attacked him while he was at the residence and that he defended himself by firing a single gunshot, striking and mortally wounding the dog. Another dog was present at the residence but did not attack," CMPD Public Affairs said. "CMPD is not currently seeking any additional parties."
