After his estranged wife initiated divorce to officially end their union, Dean McDermott admits the breakdown of his marriage to Tori Spelling has been 'a long time coming.'

AceShowbiz - On Monday, April 1, Tori Spelling announced her decision to file for divorce from Dean McDermott on the debut episode of her podcast, "misSPELLING." The 50-year-old actress admitted that she had been considering a divorce for "like...15 years."

The news comes after months of speculation surrounding the couple's relationship. In a video obtained by The Daily Mail, Dean responded to the divorce, stating that "it's been a long time coming" and that he and Tori "are good."

Tori officially filed for divorce last week, citing irreconcilable differences. She listed June 17, 2023, as the official date of separation and requested sole physical custody of their five children: Liam, Stella, Hattie, Finn, and Beau. She also sought joint legal custody with Dean's visitation rights to be determined later.

During the podcast episode, Tori revealed that a recent fight with Dean had ultimately led her to end the marriage. The details of the dispute were not disclosed.

Spelling explained that she had been struggling with negative thoughts and feelings of not being worthy of love for a long time. "I've never felt more alone," she lamented. "I don't feel worth loving."

Spelling said that she had recognized red flags in McDermott's behavior early on, including anger issues and alcohol abuse. She admitted to creating a "character" of Dean, with certain qualities she desired, but that their relationship changed significantly after they had children.

She also discussed her reasons for filing first, stating that McDermott had inflicted "a lot of pain" on her marriage. She told him on the phone, "You basically put it out there with Daily Mail and said everything you've done to me over the years, so I think it makes perfect sense that it followed up that I would file."
