An attorney for the actress claims that her ex-husband's lawsuit over her decision to sell her share in the Chateau Miraval property 'has never been about a business dispute,' but 'his attempts to cover up serious abuse.'

AceShowbiz - Angelina Jolie is ready to move on from his long-running court battle with Brad Pitt. After she scored a major victory in the winery lawsuit, the "Maleficent" star asked that his ex-husband help their family "heal in private."

"The judge dismissed most of Mr. Pitt's claims because they don't have a legal basis," Angelina's attorney Paul Murphy said in a statement to ET regarding the judge's latest ruling. "Mr. Pitt's lawsuit has never been about a business dispute; instead, it is about his attempts to cover up serious abuse, and we are gratified the judge has thrown out so much of Mr. Pitt's complaint."

The attorney added, "Angelina truly harbors no ill-will toward Mr. Pitt, and hopes he will now release her from his frivolous lawsuit, stop his relentless attacks, and join her in helping their family heal in private."

Brad sued Angelina over her decision to sell her shares in the Chateau Miraval property and winemaking ventures that they purchased in 2008. He filed the lawsuit in 2022, claiming that the sale was done to "inflict harm" on him amid their divorce.

"Pitt and Jolie purchased the chateau as a home to share with their children and the vineyard as a family business," the court documents read at the time. "They agreed they would never sell their respective interests in Miraval without the other's consent. The couple spent the holidays at Miraval with their children and were married there in 2014."

After Brad scored a victory on March 13 in his lawsuit against his ex-wife, a source with knowledge of the case said that a court in Los Angeles, California actually ruled against Brad on Angelina's demurrer to his original complaint and dismissed five of the seven claims Brad asserted against her.

Despite Angelina's victory, the case is still moving forward and Brad isn't ready to give up. A source tells Us Weekly, "Brad is willing to drag out the lawsuit over Chateau Miraval and Angie as long as possible if needed. He is not giving up and will do it to spite Angie with vengeance."

Besides the winery lawsuit, the former couple has been embroiled in a long custody battle over their children. The "Mr and Mrs Smith" co-stars share Maddox, 22, Pax, 20, Zahara, 19, Shiloh, 17, and 15-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne.
