"Mr and Mrs Smith" Series on Sale
May 18, 2007 06:05:59Despite the success of the big screen version, the TV adaptation of "Mr and Mrs Smith" apparently gets slightly stumbled on its way to have itself aired on the small screen.
The Hollywood Reporter has learned that ABC, for which the big-budgeted pilot of the series was produced, has ended up passing on the project, and thereby prompts Regency Television to put it on the market for sale. However, as part of Regency's deal with ABC, the production company was granted an early release.

January 04, 2007 11:01:52Riding on the huge success "Mr and Mrs Smith" has scored in the big screen, a TV series based on the flick is about to come up to the surface as ABC has delightfully given the project green light to enter production, Variety has revealed.
Being eyed as a fall 2007 contender, the show is planned to have its pilot episode shot in March with Doug Liman and Simon Kinberg reprising their duty as director and writer, respectively. Both of them will also executive produce alongside Dave Bartis, who is known for his producing work in "The O.C."

June 13, 2005 09:06:08Give applause to both Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, whose action has worth their movie "Mr. and Mrs. Smith" a $51 million opening weekend, dragged it to top the weekend rankings. The previous weekend's champ, "Madagascar," slipped to second place with $17.1 million, while "Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith" was third with $14.9 million.
At No. 4 was "The Longest Yard" with $13.5 million, whereas "Sharkboy and Lavagirl," whose opening only $12.5 million, coming in at No. 5. At 6th to 10 in a row; "Cinderella Man," $9.5 million; "The Honeymooners," $5.8 million; "The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants," $5.7 million; "Monster-in-Law," $2.6 million; and "Crash," $1.9 million.
