AceShowbiz - Tom Holland has sent fans hopeful about a new Spider-Man movie following his latest social media update. The Peter Parker depicter in Marvel Cinematic Universe set Internet abuzz with speculation about possible "Spider-Man 4" after he teased that he has a "big announcement" coming on Tuesday, February 6.
On Monday, the 27-year-old took to his Instagram Story to share footage of himself on the golf course. Showing off his swing in the clip, he added a caption that read, "Big announcement tomorrow!"
With less than 24 hours before Holland drops the news, fans have been rambling on social media about what project that the actor has up his sleeve. "We Wonder If it's for #Spiderman4," one person reacted to the Story.
Another theorized, "Golf... swinging... Spider-Man swings from webs... please let it be another new Spider-Man movie announcement!!!" A third shared a clip that perhaps represents "scenes when Tom Holland announces that Spider-Man 4,5 and 6 trilogy are in the works."
"If Tom Holland doesn't announce spiderman 4 tomorrow. An asteroid can just hit earth cause what even is the point," a fourth fan commented. Someone opined, "Tom Holland has a big announcement tomorrow, twitter suggested I follow the spiderman twitter account, and I have seen multiple tweets about spiderman 4. Something tells me we're about to get uncharted 2."
Others predicted another project that Holland might be teasing, which is starring in the live-action movie of "Danny Phantom". One of them argued, "tom holland as danny phantom? its def not gonna be spider-man news (plz lemme be wrong)." Another pointed out, "Butch Hartman wants Tom Holland to play a live-action version of Danny Phantom."
There are also wild theories that Holland could join the voice cast of "Sonic the Hedgehog 3" as Shadow the Hedgehog. "He's playing Shadow the Hedgehog in Sonic 3," one X, formerly Twitter, user claimed.
In December 2023, Holland confirmed he had been "actively engaging in conversations" about making another Spider-Man movie, but he will only reprise the role if the story is right. "All I can say is that we have been actively engaging in conversations about what it could potentially look like for a fourth rendition of my character. Whether or not we can find a way to do justice to the character is another thing. I feel very protective over Spider-Man," he said during a Critics Choice Association press conference.
"I feel very, very lucky that we were able to work on a franchise that got better with each movie, that got more successful with each movie, which I think is really rare, and I want to protect his legacy. So, I won't make another one for the sake of making another one. It will have to be worth the while of the character," the British star explained.
The "Avengers: Endgame" star admitted he'd be a "fool" not to say yes if another film in the franchise came along. He noted, "But that said, if we can figure that out, I would be a fool not to put the suit back on again because I owe everything to Spider-Man. I love the character and the people I get to work with. So, I would love to tell another story, but I'll only tell it if we can find the right one."
