When talking about her acting ambition, the 'Easy on Me' hitmaker says she'll only do a movie with a certain filmmaker, but 'he's not mentally ready to write the script for it.'

AceShowbiz - Adele does not rule out spreading her wings into big screen. Having received 16 Grammy Awards and an Academy Award for Best Original Song, the singer has no acting ambition, but would love to make her acting debut with a particular filmmaker.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter after receiving the Sherry Lansing Leadership Award at The Hollywood Reporter's annual Women in Entertainment event on Thursday, December 7, the British superstar reveals that she has set her eyes on collaborating with a mystery filmmaker, whom she refuses to name. "There is one movie I want to do," she says, before noting that it won't be happening soon as she claims, "but the guy whose movie it would be, he’s not mentally ready to write the script for it."

Pressed on the name of the filmmaker, the "Rolling in the Deep" songstress gets coy as she only says that it's someone well known. "I'm not giving you no clues, though," she says, before teasing, "But I bug him every now and then about it, but he's just not there yet. But that's the only role I ever want. Because I think I'd nail it. I think I'd do really, really, really good at it."

Asked if in her dream movie Adele would play a famous figure, the 35-year-old singer/songwriter replies, "No." She goes on divulging why she turned down acting roles offered to her so far. "See, I get offered that all the time. I get offered to do biopics of singers, and I think that's too obvious," she explains, ruling out musical biopics.

She continues, "And also anyone that's great enough to have a biopic about them, you're just setting yourself up for disaster. Then would they want me to sing as myself? Because then it would sound like me, it wouldn't sound like them. So I wouldn't do it. But that's all I've been offered, really."

Having also received a Primetime Emmy Award, Adele is only one trophy away from being an EGOT. In the same interview, she reveals what she would do to win her first Tony Award. "I don't love musicals. That's the only issue," she admits, "But I do remember going to see, what was it called? (Whips out her phone.) Let me Google it. Hang on. 'Gypsy' - as the mum. Because it's just one big song. I think I could handle it. I could do that eight, 10 times a week. One big song."

Adele is currently headlining a Las Vegas residency at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace. A third leg of the residency will launch in January 2024.
