AceShowbiz - Selena Gomez didn't see it coming. While she has previously poked fun at her single status, the former Disney starling was taken aback by TikTok's "rude" response to a question about why she currently doesn't have a boyfriend.
In a video posted on the platform on Thursday, July 13, the 30-year-old singer/actress filmed herself playing around with a fun filter that asks, "Why Am I Single?". A range of options from "Fear of Intimacy" to "You Don't Believe in Online Dating" appeared before it settled on an explanation reading, "You Have Bad Taste."
Upon reading the random answer, the "Wolves" songstress gasped in shock at the camera and rolled her eyes. She turned to someone off-camera to express her surprise before the video ended. "Well thats rude tik tok," she wrote in the caption.
However, some of Selena's followers were seemingly not shocked by the response. "Well...," wrote a fan in the comments section, while another added, "So true." A third jokingly wrote, "Same sis, same," and a fourth weighed in, "we could've told you that."
Some others, however, came to Selena's defense, with one stating, "U DID NOT." Another agreed as arguing, "No, it's because you are a queen with high standards, and deserves nothing less than those standards."
Selena was most recently rumored to be "casually" dating Jeremy Allen White, who has been in the midst of divorce with his estranged wife Addison Timlin. Her recent reunion with Taylor Swift, however, seemed to confirm the two stars' relationship status.
On July 7, the 12-time Grammy winner took to Instagram to share pictures of her July 4th celebration with her besties. Besides the country-turned-pop superstar and the Rare Beauty founder, Este Haim, Danielle Haim, Alana Haim, stylist Ashley Avignone and Sydney Ness were also joining in the fun.
In the caption, Taylor wrote, "Happy belated Independence Day from your local neighborhood independent girlies." The HAIM band's official Instagram page shared the same snaps from the Fourth of July celebration and captioned it, "single summer."
