AceShowbiz - Rapper Mozzy was detained after seven people were shot at an after-party that he attended. The West Coast MC, who just completed a 10-month prison sentence in May, was taken by police in Wichita as the authorities suspected that one of his crew members was involved in the shooting incident.
According to TMZ, Mozzy was stopped by police on Saturday night, July 1 after gunfire erupted at a venue called City Nightz. It was said that in the aftermath of the shooting incident, cops did a traffic stop as they were trying to vet as many people as possible in the area.
In footage obtained by the news outlet, he was seen being placed in handcuffs and led away. Despite that, the source further noted that Mozzy, who was among those who attended an after-party at the venue following his performance at a neighboring club, was only briefly detained in jail.
The report also noted that the rapper didn't face any charges in relation to the shooting. Some of his crew members were also briefly detained, though one of them ended up being arrested in connection to the shooting. While it's unclear what charge he was booked on, the insider claimed that Wichita PD has reason to believe he may be a suspect.
Some other videos, meanwhile, showed how all hell broke loose that night after gunfire was shot. People could be seen getting involved in some kind of scuffle with one clip featuring blood spilled on the floor.
TMZ revealed that a handful of people were hurt in the incident. Some of the seven people who were shot, who are ranging in age from 22 to 34, only suffered from minor bullet grazes while others had full-on gunshot wounds. Some are allegedly in critical condition.
Mozzy has yet to comment on the matter.
