The 'Homeland' actor is a proud father to a 'little bear' after his producer wife Alexis delivered a bouncing baby boy at the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.

AceShowbiz - "Homeland" star Maury Sterling has become a first-time father.

The actor, known for his role as surveillance expert Max Piotrowski on the hit spy series, welcomed a baby boy with his producer wife Alexis in Los Angeles on Tuesday, March 31, 2020.

The new mum took to Instagram to post a sweet snap of father and son as she introduced the tot to followers, and urged them to donate any personal protective equipment (PPE) they may have to medics on the front lines of the coronavirus chaos.

"Welcome to our little bear," she captioned the image. "Ford Bryant Sterling was born this morning at 4:08am."

"He's healthy and we cannot thank the staff at @cedarssinai for taking amazing care of us as we bring a tiny human into a pandemic (sic). PLEASE LOOK INTO DONATING PPE TO YOUR LOCAL HOSPITAL/CLINIC."

The Sterlings had rushed to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center on Sunday night as Alexis went into labour, with Maury sharing the exciting news in a post on Instagram, explaining why he wouldn't be live-tweeting while the latest episode of the eighth and final season of "Homeland" premiered in the U.S.

"Was hoping to join all the great #Homeland fans on @twitter tonight, but @alexisboozersterling and I are in the hospital to welcome our son into the world. @showtime @sho_homeland Thank you all for support of the show," he captioned a photo of himself walking through a hospital corridor laden down with bags.

The couple wed in 2014.
