The 'Ruler' hitmaker says when she first came to New York, she and Jack 'were very obsessed with each other on a creative level and as buds,' and they 'still FaceTime almost every day.'

AceShowbiz - Lorde has something to say about her relationship with Jack Antonoff after they were hit with dating rumors. The "Homemade Dynamite" singer opens up about her special relationship with the Bleachers founder, who just split from Lena Dunham, in a new interview with Billboard, explaining that they've become close friends after working on music together.

"We still FaceTime almost every day," the 21-year-old songstress says of her platonic relationship with Jack, whom she collaborated with on her hit album "Melodrama". "When you work with someone, you sometimes think, 'Maybe it will just be for this time,' and we say we're going to keep in touch but we won't," she continues explaining. "But we really ... I'm like, 'Hey, d**khead, what are you getting me for Christmas?' "

Speaking about their mutual admiration for each other, Lorde shares that when she first came to New York, "we had only written together maybe a couple of times, and we were very obsessed with each other on a creative level and as buds."

"I was sort of doing nothing in New York, and we did this thing where for five days in a row we just kept having dinner every night, just getting to know each other," she continues. "One night, somehow it came up that I hadn't had Cap'n Crunch or Cinnamon Toast Crunch or Lucky Charms. He was like, 'We have to do this.' So we went to a bodega, got all of these cereals and went back to his house in Brooklyn and did a little lineup of bowls. We tried, like, 20 -different kinds of cereal. (Laughs.) I still think about Cinnamon Toast Crunch all the time."

Jack helped write 10 of the songs on Lorde's latest album. Despite their strong bond, the 33-year-old producer was recently forced to deny rumors that he and the New Zealand-born beauty might be more than friends.

Taking to his Twitter account, Jack wrote on Wednesday, January 17, "normally i would never address rumors but i resent having the most important friendships and working relationships in my life reduced to dumb hetero normative gossip. those relationships are deeply important and sacred." The Fun. lead guitarist concluded, "with that said, im not seeing anyone. lol."

As previously reported, Jack broke up with "Girls" star and creator Lena Dunham in December last year after five years together. An insider revealed at the time that their split was "mutual." The pair allegedly "were growing apart and it just made sense for them to end their relationship where it was." The insider noted the split was far from messy, saying, "They want the best for each other no matter what," and that "they are both moving on."
