AceShowbiz - Ryan Lochte and Kayla Rae Reid are officially man and wife. The former "What Would Ryan Lochte Do?" star and his model fiancee tied the knot in a courthouse wedding ceremony in Gainesville, Florida on Tuesday, January 9.
According to the marriage license obtained by TMZ, Lochte's father was a witness to the nuptials. As previously reported by the site, the 6-time Gold medalist picked up his marriage paperwork last week and sources revealed at the time that "marriage is imminent."
Neither Lochte nor Reid has made any mention of the milestone on their social media accounts. The 33-year-old Olympian's agent has told Page Six that the couple intends "on having a celebration with family and friends later this year."
Lochte revealed during the 2016 Summer Olympics that he was in relationship with the Playboy Playmate of the Month for July 2015. They started dating earlier that year after being introduced by mutual friends.
"We physically ran into each other. We grabbed each other's hands and were looking into each other's eyes. We clicked," Reid dished on her first meeting with Lochte in an August interview that same year. "I had always heard he was a player and a partier. I always said I would never date an athlete," she shared, but when she "met him, he was the complete opposite of everything I thought he was."
The competitive swimmer and the 26-year-old model got engaged in October 2016. The couple welcomed their child, a son named Caiden Zane Lochte, on June 8 last year.
Speaking about his marriage to Reid, Lochte tells PEOPLE, "I've waited for Kayla my whole life." He continues gushing about his life with his new family, "She has given us the most perfect little boy and I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with her and Caiden."
