AceShowbiz - It is beyond horrible! A mother in Brussels, Belgium was arrested on Sunday evening, September 24 following allegations of cooking her 2-year-old daughter alive. It was reported that the alleged action was part of a suicide bid.
Cops arrived at the house of the 27-year-old woman, who is reportedly of African descent, after neighbors allegedly heard a girl screaming, followed by smoke coming from under the garage door. When authorities arrived, they saw something which was beyond shocking.
Police found the deranged mother, who was not named, literally cooking the body of her daughter on a charcoal grill. The poor child's remains were almost fully charred. However, it remains to be seen whether the mother cooked her daughter alive or she killed her first then proceeded to burn the girl.
According to HLN, the mother told police who arrived at the scene, "We both had to burn." She later added that it "was the only way we could go to heaven together."
The woman reportedly has been depressed after going through a divorce. She has been living with her mother, but the latter reportedly left the house on the evening where the foul action was taken place.
The mother was taken to hospital due to severe carbon monoxide poisoning. She was later arrested in the hospital on suspicion of murder. Authorities have performed an autopsy on the little girl's body, but the prosecutor's office hasn't announced the results to public.
Psychiatrist Hans Hellebuyck told the publication that it's very possible that the mother is mentally ill. "If the woman made such remarks and truly meant them, it is possible that she is mentally ill," the expert said of the mother's comment about going to heaven by being burned. "I am not saying it is like that, but it is something which has to be taken into account."
