The 34-year-old New Orleans rapper has announced that he is now a member of Roc Nation amid on-going legal battle with his previous label Cash Money Records.

AceShowbiz - Has Lil Wayne officially switched labels? The hip-hop superstar surprised fans when he performed at Slippery Rock University in Pennsylvania on Monday, April 10. He made a sudden announcement which sparked speculations that he had officially left Cash Money and joined Jay-Z's label Roc Nation.

"Is it cool if I just say it? It's the Roc. You know I'm a member of that team now," he told the cheering crowd. After sharing the surprising news, Wayne made a diamond sign with his hands, addressing Roc-A-Fella triangle iconic gesture. He then continued the show without giving further information about his sudden announcement.

Rumors of Wayne joining Jay-Z's label have actually been circulating for years, so the recent announcement could be another false alarm from Weezy. Prior to this, he teased a deal with Roc Nation which turned out to be a partnership with Jay-Z's streaming company, Tidal, in 2015.

Since Weezy was involved in a feud with Cash Money CEO Birdman regarding legal issues, he has blasted the label on his performances. He made it no secret that he wanted to join Roc Nation and move out from Cash Money. Another false alarm was given during his Camp Flog Gnaw performance in 2016. At that time he shouted, "I'm a motherf**kin' Roc-A-Fella millionaire." He changed the lyrics as "Roc-A-Fella" was supposed to be "Cash Money."
