Following the release of his new song 'My Way', fans are speculating whether the Scottish DJ may allude to his breakup from the 'Bad Blood' hitmaker through the lyrics.

AceShowbiz - Is Calvin Harris' new single "My Way" about his ex-girlfriend Taylor Swift? Fans are speculating whether the 32-year-old Scottish DJ may allude to his breakup from the "Bad Blood" hitmaker through the lyrics.

In the song, Calvin sings lines like, "Why wait to say, at least I did it my way?/ Lie awake two-faced, but in my heart I understand/ I made my move and it was all about you. I feel so far removed. You are the one thing in my way."

During an interview with Elvis Duran on Z100, Calvin says he got inspiration for "My Way" long before he started dating Taylor. "I thought of the concept years ago when I left [grocery store] Safeway. I was trying to move to London and I was working in the store in Scotland," he shares, "I was trying to go down and make music for a living, but I couldn't because I didn't have any money."

During another interview with "On Air with Ryan Seacrest", Calvin says of "My Way" lyrics, "It could be about anything, really. It could be a job that you hate, and then you quit the job then life is awesome. It could be about a relationship and you get rid of the girl or the guy then life is awesome." When asked if the lyrics were inspired by personal experiences, he vaguely replies, "I think it's like an amalgamation of events in my life since maybe the past 10 years."

"My Way" marked the first time Calvin sings a track since his 2014 hit "Summer". He says, "I feel like it's a voice that could be used sparingly, but it's memorable. It's almost nostalgic at this point. Maybe just for me, but I know a lot of people responded positively to 'Feel So Close' and I know there's a lot of memories there."

The "This Is What You Came for" hitmaker reveals he has another collaboration with Big Sean, whom he previously worked with on 2014's "Open Wide".

"[Big Sean]'s doing his album at the moment, and he sent me an a cappella and his guy playing the piano and he said, 'We can't finish this track. We sent it to like four or five different producers. Can you have a shot at it?' " Calvin recalls, "I'm like, 'Yes! This is what I live for! That's my dream!' It was a great vocal as well so it was dream for me. As it's happened in the past, I'd get an amazing vocal and an amazing idea, and I get to do the music, which is what I love to do."
