AceShowbiz - Several photos reportedly taken from the set of Michael Bay's "Transformers: The Last Knight" have made their way online. Obtained by BBC, the new on-set images which were taken during the filming on Scottish Isle of Skye on Monday, August 22 hinted that the film may have a connection with Arthurian mythology.

Two out of three images feature actors dressing in medieval costumes and riding horses on grassy hills. These seem to point to "The Last Knight" being connected to the time period of King Arthur. The new speculation fuels the reports broken back in June about an Arthurian wizard named Merlin whose sword is somehow tied to artifact Optimus Prime tries to find.

Though the helmer intensely shares photos and videos taken from the set, the plot details are kept under tight wraps. Fans are wondering if the upcoming film will feature flashback scenes in which the roster of 'bots will possibly meet the Arthurian wizard or find his sword, Excalibur, as the movie's logo also features a sword.

In the fifth "Transformers" movie, Mark Wahlberg, Josh Duhamel and Tyrese Gibson are set to reprise their roles as Cade Yeager, William Lennox and Robert Epps respectively. Peter Cullen once again lends his voice to Optimus Prime. Also joining the cast ensemble is Anthony Hopkins, who is tapped in a mystery role.

"Transformers: The Last Knight" is coming to U.S. theaters on June 23, 2017.
