A.J. McLean confirms that the two bands' plan to hit the road together has 'kind of fizzled out' as the girls continue working on their own reunion tour.

AceShowbiz - You can now stop expecting to see Backstreet Boys and Spice Girls hitting the road together. Following months of rumors, the boyband's A.J. McLean recently broke millions of fans' hearts when he said that the joint tour wouldn't be happening, at least not in the near future.

During a sit-down with 103.5 KTU's Cubby & Carolina, the singer revealed that his group's plan to team up with Spice Girls had "kind of fizzled out." "From what I've heard, they want to do their own tour. I think it's their 20th anniversary, were back in the studio making a brand new album, so everyone's doing their own thing," he explained.

However, McLean didn't rule out possibility that the tour could happen someday. "God willing, down the road, maybe it could happen. But as of right now it's not happening," he added. "They're doing their thing, we're focusing on our thing. But I think it would be something awesome if it did happen."

Spice Girls has indeed been planning their own reunion tour to celebrate the 20th anniversary of their breakout hit single, "Wannabe". But, it's unclear if the girls are still planning to do it after some reports claimed that Melanie C dropped out of the reunion talks. Victoria Beckham a.k.a. Victoria Adams isn't going to be part of whatever it is her former bandmates are working on.
