AceShowbiz - Jake Gyllenhaal has reportedly landed the lead role in an upcoming adaptation of Ubisoft's fastest-selling video game "Tom Clancy's The Division". According to Variety, the "Nightcrawler" actor will also serve as a producer for the new feature film.
The third-person shooter video game takes place in a dystopian New York City that becomes lawless in the aftermath of a smallpox pandemic. A team of "black ops" officers is tasked with rebuilding their operations in Manhattan while investigating the nature of the outbreak and fending off criminals.
Jake Gyllenhaal is no stranger to video game adaptation. Back in 2010, he led the big screen version of Ubisoft's "Prince of Persia: Sands of Time" which got panned by critics but managed to rake in a descent $336 million worldwide.
