The 'Pirates of the Caribbean' actor hope 'the dissolution of this short marriage will be resolved quickly.'

AceShowbiz - Johnny Depp has broken his silence following his divorce from Amber Heard. A rep for the "Pirates of Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales" actor issued a statement on Thursday afternoon, May 26.

"Given the brevity of this marriage and the most recent and tragic loss of his mother, Johnny will not respond to any of the salacious false stories, gossip, misinformation and lies about his personal life," the statement read. "Hopefully the dissolution of this short marriage will be resolved quickly."

Since news of their divorce broke, reports have surfaced that Johnny's family, particularly his mother Betty Sue Palmer, who passed away on Friday, May 20, were not fans of Amber, which allegedly caused friction between the couple.

Amber filed for divorce from Johnny on Monday, May 23, citing irreconcilable differences. She's asking for spousal support from her estranged husband. However, Johnny, who possesses $400 million net worth, reportedly refused her request for spousal support.
