The 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' actor opened up about his daughter's health crisis during the NYU Langone Medical Center's Find a Cure for Epilepsy and Seizures event on Tuesday, March 8.

AceShowbiz - Harrison Ford has made it publicly known that he cares so much about her daughter Georgia's health. On Tuesday, March 8, the "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" star attended a charity fundraiser where he emotionally revealed that her beloved daughter suffered from epilepsy.

The 73-year-old actor discussed Georgia's health crisis at the NYU Langone Medical Center's Find a Cure for Epilepsy and Seizures (FACES) event. Speaking to New York Daily News, Harrison said, "She is joining me to thank FACES. I admire a lot of things about her. I admire her perseverance, her talent, her strength. She's my hero. I love her."

He went on praising Dr. Orrin Devinsky, who helped diagnose his daughter's condition. Harrison also expressed his gratitude to the doctor whom he said had been "a great service to my family" for years since Georgia was found to suffer the chronic neurological disorder. "I am grateful for that. So I'm happy to be here," Harrison continued.

"When you have a loved one who suffers from this disease, it can be devastating. You know how it affects their lives, their future, their opportunities and you want desperately to find mitigation," he added. "You want to find a way that they can live a comfortable and effective life."

The father of five also chronicled their struggle to get Georgia properly diagnosed. He said her first seizure occurred during a sleepover when she was a child. Los Angeles doctors only prescribed her medication for acute migraine, but she suffered the same attack again a few years later.

"A few years later she had another big one, this one on a beach in Malibu, where a Hollywood director found her, luckily," he recalled. "I said to myself this is Los Angeles, we have some of the best doctors in the world, they must know what's wrong with her. But nothing was diagnosed as epilepsy."

Harrison was so grateful that he and Georgia finally met Dr. Orrin who had given the right medication for her daughter. "Dr. Orinn Davinsky, who is a dear friend, made the diagnosis: epilepsy," Harrison said tearfully. "He prescribed the right medication and therapy; she has not had a seizure in eight years."
