British newcomer Sophie Skelton has landed the important, spoiler-filled role in season 2 of the fantasy drama series.

AceShowbiz - Meet Brianna of Starz's "Outlander". The fantasy drama series has cast newcomer Sophie Skelton in the coveted role for its second season. The casting news was announced on the show's official Facebook page along with first look at the British actress as Jamie (Sam Heughan) and Claire's (Caitriona Balfe) adult daughter.
In the books, Brianna is described as a striking, redheaded woman, strong-minded and intelligent beyond her years with traits inherited from both her mother and father. She has a distinctly scholastic mindset and a healthy dose of Fraser stubbornness.

It has been known that Claire's pregnant but how do we meet her already 20-year-old daughter? Season 2 of the show is mostly based on the second book, "Dragonfly in Amber", which includes a huge time jump.
The next installment will also see Claire and Jamie arriving in Paris. There, they live with Jamie's Scottish cousin Jared Fraser (Robert Cavanagh), a successful wine merchant and a strong Jacobite. They will try to stop the Jacobite rising by ingratiating themselves in the French court so they can thwart the financing for Bonnie Prince Charlie's Jacobite rebellion.
The new season premieres this April on Starz.
