The former 'Lizzie McGuire' star has said goodbye to her long blonde locks, showing off her new short hair in a picture on the photo-sharing site.

AceShowbiz - Hilary Duff took to Instagram on Saturday, December 19 to debut her new short haircut. In a black-and-white photo, the 28-year-old actress posed in a black tee. "Soooo it's pretty short. Thank you @cynthiavanis chopping," she captioned it.

On Friday, Hilary shared a picture at the beauty salon which appeared to have been taken just minutes before her drastic cut. In the snap, the former "Lizzie McGuire" star looked surprised as the hairdresser was trying to cut her hair with very large scissors.

The hairdresser posted two selfies with Hilary who wore a printed green sweater. "Thanks for trusting me with your locks buddy...@hilaryduff #shorthairdontcare #basicallytwins," she wrote alongside the shot.

Back in March, Hilary dyed her hair turquoise. "@Ambahhh turned me into a mermaid last night ... love all u girls @riawnacapri @nikkilee901 @ninezeroone xx," she captioned a selfie at the time. A month later, she dyed her hair again pink.
