The singer, who last performed at the awards show in 2011, will take the stage at London's O2 for the upcoming ceremony that's scheduled for February 24.

AceShowbiz - Adele is returning to the BRIT Awards next year. The British superstar is the first act to have been confirmed to perform during the annual event, which is taking place at London's O2 on February 24.

"You couldn't get a bigger name in music right now. Adele is having an exceptional moment and The BRITs are delighted to be a part of her history, her present and future," Brit chairman Max Lousada said when making the announcement.

Adele, who has won three BRIT Awards in her career, last hit the show's stage as a performer in 2011, playing "Someone Like You" from her previous album "21". A year later, she famously gave presenter James Corden the middle finger for cutting one of her acceptance speeches short.

The 27-year-old songbird will surely bring her comeback album "25" to the 2016 event, though there's still no word on which song she'll perform at the upcoming ceremony. She'll probably sing "When We Were Young", which has been confirmed as the LP's second single, or stick with "Hello" which is currently spending its seventh consecutive week at No. 1 on Billboard Hot 100.
