'Scream Queens' Finale: There's Not One, Not Two, but Three Red Devils
TV

The mastermind behind all those violent murders is the least character you might have suspected.

AceShowbiz - The Red Devil was finally unmasked in "Scream Queens" season finale. As many might have guessed, there's more than one killer, but the mastermind behind all those murders was the least person you might have suspected.

Following Pete's (Diego Boneta) confession that he's a murderer in last week's outing, [SPOILER ALERT!] it's revealed that Gigi (Nasim Pedrad) was the second killer and Hester a.k.a. Chanel #6 (Lea Michele) was the mastermind.

In the two-hour finale, Hester pinned all those murders on the three remaining Chanels, who were then sent to an asylum where they started a new sorority. Grace (Skyler Samuels) and Zayday (Keke Palmer), meanwhile, survived.

Michele who plays Hester claims that she had no idea Hester was the killer until she received the season's final script. "I was excited!" she says of her reaction after learning of the killer. She adds, "I was like, 'I am happy ... but I just want to make sure I get away with it!' And he [co-creator Ryan Murphy] was like, 'You do - it's fine.' So then I got excited about it."

The "Glee" alum earlier thought that Wes (Oliver Hudson) would be the killer.

Speaking of the violent scenes, including one which saw Hester using a high-heeled shoe to puncture her own eyeball in the finale, Michele doesn't find them too gross to film except for one scene. "I think the only thing that I found really gross was when I stuck my finger into that dead woman - blech, that was probably the worst," she recalls. "That to me, that was the only time when I thought, 'This isn't really my scene.' But other than that, I'm really kind of fine with it."

Still, Michele is grateful to be part of the show. "I honestly couldn't feel more grateful," she tells Us Weekly. "I just hope that we get the opportunity to come back and play around even more!"
