Miranda Lambert Not Dissing Gwen Stefani With Her Pink Hair

Lambert's stylist reminds everyone that the singer loves pink and that's basically why she dyed her hair pink for the 2015 CMA Awards.

AceShowbiz - Miranda Lambert's pink hair at the 2015 Country Music Association Awards had nothing to do with Gwen Stefani. Following speculations that her new hairstyle was a diss aimed at the No Doubt frontwoman, who dyed her own hair pink years ago, her hairstylist Johnny Lavoy reminded everyone that pink had been the country superstar's favorite color.

"It's no secret that Miranda's favorite color is pink. She owns a store named the Pink Pistol, and her tour was named Roadside Bars & Pink Guitars," Lavoy, who has been working with Lambert for four years, told Us Weekly. It's worth noting that the singer also brought along a pink guitar while performing her new song "Bathroom Sink" at the Wednesday, November 4 awards show.

Lambert previously sported a few pastel streaks while making surprise appearance at Taylor Swift's Greensboro, N.C. concert last month. Lavoy went on telling the site that he suggested her to try brighter color for the ceremony.

"Because of the risk involved, I thought the smartest plan would be to make some clip-in extensions," he explained. "I used light blonde Lox extensions, then painted on soft pink Joico semi-permanent hair color in an ombre style. The end result was soft but edgy, and chic."

Lambert was pretty satisfied with the result, according to Lavoy. "This was the first time Miranda played with a bold color, and she loved it, so I don't think it will be the last!" he said.

Lambert debuted her pink hair just hours after her ex-husband Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani confirmed their relationship. Right before the CMA Awards, reps for the new couple said, "Gwen and Blake are longtime friends who have very recently started dating."

On the heels of the dating confirmation, Lambert took to Instagram on Friday to share heartbreaking lyrics of Lake Street Dive's "Better Than". "I could spend ages reading the news, I could spend days, singing the blues," she wrote. "But I turn up the tv light. Give up without a fight. Better than pretending to know what's wrong and what's right."
