AceShowbiz - Facebook has teamed up with Lucasfilm to launch "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" 360-degree video which explores Jakku, the planet where Rey (Daisy Ridley) comes from. The video puts viewers in the driver's seat of Rey's speeder bike, as the vehicle races through the post-apocalyptic sandy surface of Jakku.

The one-minute video allows fans to click and drag around the video to change the angle, exploring the whole area where wrecked Star Destroyer is spotted. At the end of the video, the sound of BB-8 can also be heard. Not only with Lucasfilm, but the social media site has also previously teamed up with big companies like Discovery, GoPro, LeBron James & Uninterrupted, "Saturday Night Live" and VICE to release the "VR" experiences.

In other news from the same universe, John Boyega, who plays Finn in the film, revealed that the upcoming film would be very emotional. He admitted that the screenplay of the movie made him shed a tear. "When I read the script I cried, and I'm not really a big crier," the actor said. "I'm more like a frog-in-the-throat kind of guy, who'll try to hold it in and make sure I don't let it all out."

Boyega also gave a little hint about his character. "Finn is dope," he said. "His story is so epic. It's a story that's never been seen before, but it also mirrors the stories of Luke Skywalker and Han Solo. And he's quirky and charismatic and funny. For me, he was the best character in the script."

"The Force Awakens" is directed by J.J. Abrams. Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher return to reprise their respective roles. The sci-fi adventure movie is slated for a release in U.S. theaters on December 18.
