The actor who portrays Hellboy hopes that the third movie can happen, saying that he needs to finish the trilogy.

AceShowbiz - The long-gestating fantasy movie "Hellboy 3" may have shown signs of life. The rumor about the third installment of "Hellboy" movie series comes from none other than the red baby demon himself, Ron Perlman.
The second film, "Hellboy II: The Golden Army", seemed to gross less than expected that it couldn't greenlight the third movie. However, Perlman always hoped that the third movie could really happen. "I could actually see somebody like Jeff [Bezos, the CEO of Amazon] going, 'You guys need $120M to make 'Hellboy'? I'm down.' This is the reason I keep touting 'Hellboy 3' because I think there's somebody out there that's going to agree with me, that we need to finish this trilogy," he told DigitalSpy.
Perlman also revealed that he recently met director Guillermo del Toro for dinner to talk about the third instalment of the superhero movie franchise. "I really feel as though I'm done with the character, I don't have a burning desire to put that s**t on again," the actor told Empire.
"But Guillermo told me what the resolve of the trilogy would look like, in broad strokes, and it's such an amazingly theatrical, cinematic idea, that I found it essential that we do it," he added. "We were designed to be a trilogy, with a beginning, a middle and an end. We've only done two-thirds, so I feel that we're not really done until we finish it."
Enthusiastic about the third movie, Perlman gave another snippet, "Holy s**t, he's the beast of the Apocalypse. He has to take down civilisation. He has to. It's non-negotiable. That's the foundation for the story, and that's why I think it would be a shame if we don't do it."
The interviewer continued the conversation by asking Perlman about possible plot if the third movie happens. Perlman then teased about the offspring of the Hellboy who would possibly appear in the third movie. "The two twins: one would look like the mum and one would look like the dad. And one of them was going to be completely f**king corrupt, the other one angelic. Which one was which? Only Guillermo would make the f**ked-up-looking one be the angel. So then that adds to the saga," Perlman explained.
