General Sam Lane, the Red Tornado and Non are going to appear on the upcoming CBS series, so executive producer Andrew Kreisberg has announced.

AceShowbiz - More DC Comics characters are going to be introduced on CBS' "Supergirl". Executive producer Andrew Kreisberg announced at the Television Critics Association summer press tour that General Sam Lane, the Red Tornado and Non would join the likes of Reactron (Chris Browning), Maxwell Lord (Peter Facinelli) and Lucy Lane (Jenna Dewan-Tatum) to appear in the first season of the new series. The actors who will take on the roles have not been revealed though.

Geoff Johns, chief creative officer at DC Comics, hinted that Superman could make appearance on the TV series as well. He said, "[Superman] will be a factor in her life, but you won't see him on screen," adding that Superman would "play a part in her evolution of becoming a superhero." Executive producer Ali Adler further explained, "As much as we respect the history of Superman, it's very much her point of view."

Johns revealed that Kara (Melissa Benoist) still has memories of Krypton that Superman did not and it "makes it much more painful. She has a lot more to go through, even than Clark Kent did, on adjusting to Earth."

On rumors about "Supergirl" and "The Flash" crossover, CBS Entertainment chairman Nina Tassler dismissed it since the two series are on different networks. "I'm a little bit of a superhero geek and I have a lot of respect for what characters inhabit certain universes," she explained. "You can't just pick up one character and let them fly over and appear in another setting. You really have to be respectful and mindful of what each universe says you can and can't do."

CBS has also released a new trailer for "Supergirl", highlighting the rise of a new hero on earth besides Superman.

"Supergirl" will premiere Monday, October 26 at 8:30 P.M. on CBS, before airing in its regular slot beginning Monday, November 2 at 8 P.M. It also stars Chyler Leigh as Kara's foster sister Alex Danvers, Mehcad Brooks as Kara's love interest Jimmy Olsen, Calista Flockhart as Kara's boss Cat Grant, Laura Benanti as her birth mother Alura Zor-El, and Owain Yeoman as villainous Vartox.
