Back in 2013, Cyrus made numerous headlines for her now-infamous performance with Thicke. Clad in risque outfit, she twerked and showed off raunchy dance moves alongside the R&B star during "We Can't Stop" and "Blurred Lines". The onstage antics surprised everyone, including Thicke.
A year later, Cyrus attended the 2014 MTV VMAs and was honored with the Video of the Year Award for her "Wrecking Ball" clip. She had a homeless man she brought as a date accept her trophy.
