Chris Pratt and Jennifer Lawrence's Sci-Fi Romance 'Passengers' Greenlit by Sony

Following the success of 'Jurassic World', Chris' fee has jumped from $10 million to $12 million while the 'Hunger Games' actress is getting an exceptional $20 million.

AceShowbiz - Sony Pictures has greenlit Chris Pratt and Jennifer Lawrence's upcoming sci-fi romance "Passengers (2016)". According to TheWrap, the studio's chairman Tom Rothman finally gave the thumbs up to the project with a budget around $120 million after tax incentives.

The Hollywood Reporter adds some juicy details about Chris and Jennifer's fees. Following the success of "Jurassic World", which has a record-breaking opening with $208.8 million domestically, the 35-year-old actor's fee for "Passengers" has jumped from $10 million to $12 million. Jennifer, meanwhile, is getting an exceptional $20 million against 30 percent of the profit.

Directed by Morten Tyldum ("The Imitation Game") with a script from Jon Spaihts, "Passengers" centers on a spacecraft transporting thousands of people to a distant colony planet that has a malfunction in one of its sleep chambers which caused a single passenger to be awakened 90 years before anyone else. The passenger later decides to wake up a second passenger, marking the beginning of what becomes a unique love story.

The film is set to begin filming in September for a 2016 release.
