AceShowbiz - Starz has released a new teaser for its upcoming new series "Ash vs. Evil Dead", a follow-up to Sam Raimi's "Evil Dead" movies. The video shares no real footage from the TV series, but features someone whose face is unseen, presumably Ash Williams, starting his old chainsaw that he has used as a weapon to battle the deadites in the past.
The upcoming horror series is set 30 years after the events of "The Evil Dead" movie. Bruce Campbell returns as the titular character, "a stock boy, aging lothario and chainsaw-handed monster hunter who has spent the past three decades avoiding responsibility, maturity and the terrors of the Evil Dead. When a Deadite plague threatens to destroy all of mankind, Ash is finally forced to face his demons - personal and literal. Destiny, it turns out, has no plans to release the unlikely hero from its evil grip."
Lucy Lawless joins the cast as Ruby, "a mysterious figure who is myopic in her quest to hunt down the source of the recent Evil outbreaks. The only problem: She believes that Ash is the cause of it all." Also starring on the show are Jill Marie Jones, Ray Santiago and Dana DeLorenzo.
The series will consist of 10 half-hour episodes which will premiere this fall. Raimi is directing the first episode that he wrote with Ivan Raimi.
