The former CEO of Death Row Records has hired his fourth attorney Thomas Meserau, who previously defended Michael Jackson against child molestation charges.

Suge Knight has hired his fourth attorney since he was taken into custody following a fatal hit-and-run accident back in January. Thomas Meserau, the attorney who successfully defended Michael Jackson against child molestation charges, replaced Suge's previous lawyer Matthew Fletcher.

On Friday, May 29, the former CEO of Death Row Records was granted a delay in his scheduled murder trial as he enlisted Thomas in both hit-and-run case and a separate robbery case. Los Angeles County Superior Court judges Ronald Coen and Stephen Marcus agreed to reschedule a hearing on a motion by Suge to dismiss murder, attempted murder and hit-and-run charges.

During the hearing, Thomas told Ronald he was still uncertain how much time he would need to prepare for the murder case. The judges set preliminary hearings for both murder and robbery case for July 7.

Thomas, whose celebrity clients included Mike Tyson and Robert Blake, said outside the courtroom that he was convinced of Suge's innocence. The lawyer said in a brief statement, "This case is going to be tried in the courtroom, and not in the media."

On Wednesday, Suge's hearing in his robbery case was delayed after the music mogul claimed he was too sick to leave his jail cell.
