Melissa got emotional when talking about the lawsuit over her mother's death, saying, 'I need to know, I need answers. You have no choice but to sue.'

AceShowbiz - Melissa Rivers defended her lawsuit over her mother Joan Rivers' death. The only daughter of the comedienne got emotional when discussing the lawsuit with Wendy Williams in the Tuesday, May 12 episode of "The Wendy Williams Show".
Melissa filed a lawsuit in January against the New York City clinic where her mother allegedly underwent an unplanned biopsy before she lost her ability to breathe and died a week later at the age of 81. The suit further claimed that doctors who performed the surgery didn't perform a tracheotomy on Joan. The lawsuit also accused that another doctor took picture on a cellphone while Joan was unconscious.
Sitting with Wendy on the show, Melissa opened up about the lawsuit, saying that she needed immediate answers. "We live in this weird time where to find out what really happened, you have to sue, otherwise nobody is going to turn over records," the "Fashion Police" executive producer told the host. "I want to find out what happened. I need to know, I need answers. You have no choice but to sue."
Melissa added, "I'm angry. Parts of me wants answers right now, but there is a process and you have to sort of just grit your teeth and hang on for the process and realize you cannot make it go any faster."
In the interview, Melissa also talked about the struggle "Fashion Police" had been facing since Joan's death. Kathy Griffin and Kelly Osbourne departed the show following Giuliana Rancic's controversial criticism over Zendaya Coleman's 2015 Oscar look.
Responding to reports that Giuliana would return to the show, Melissa confirmed that was the plan "as of right now." However, Melissa added, "I also thought we wouldn't be having to recast the show... twice now in less than a year. So I don't count on anything anymore."
