AceShowbiz - Chris Brown has seemingly found himself in trouble again. The 25-year-old singer was named as a misdemeanor battery suspect in an alleged assault during an early morning basketball game at the Palm Casino Resort in Las Vegas on Monday, May 4.
According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, "at approximately 3:42 A.M. LVMPD patrol officers responded to Sunrise Hospital to investigate a report of a subject who had been beaten. Arriving officers made contact with an adult male being treated for non-life threatening injuries sustained as a result of a battery."
Police said Chris allegedly punched the victim while playing basketball. "A verbal altercation on the court led to a physical fight and the victim was punched by another male subject who was later identified as 25-year old recording artist Chris Brown," police said, "The victim prepared to defend himself and was then hit by another male reportedly with Brown."
The victim was treated for injuries at Sunrise Hospital & Medical Center and released.
Detectives from the department's Violent Crimes Section responded to the scene to talk with Chris, but he wasn't available to talk to them. They said in a statement, "Mr. Brown has been given the option of signing a citation for misdemeanor battery, or having the case submitted to the Clark County District Attorney's Office for prosecution. At that time, Mr. Brown would receive a summons to appear in Clark County Justice Court."
However, Chris' representative denied the singer was involved in the assault. The rep said in a statement, "Chris is currently in Las Vegas as he is performing at Drais on May 5 and receiving a Key to the Strip that day as well. He has a suite at the hotel that has a basketball court and invited friends to come play. An unruly individual showed up uninvited and was removed from the premises. Chris was not in an altercation with this person."
