AceShowbiz - Ray Stevenson is on board "Black Sails" to portray Blackbeard a.k.a. Edward Teach. The "Divergent" and "Rome" actor has been cast as the notorious pirate for the upcoming third season of Starz's drama series.

He "returns to settle some unfinished business, but a great deal has changed during his absence, and he will have to disrupt cemented alliances and challenge new ones to achieve the impossible." First look at the new character has been obtained in a form of picture and through a behind-the-scenes sneak peek for season 3.

Ray Stevenson is known for playing Titus Pullo on the BBC/HBO series "Rome". He has also portrayed Volstagg in "Thor" and its sequel "Thor: The Dark World". He played Marcus Eaton in "Divergent" and reprises the role in "The Divergent Series: Insurgent".

"Black Sails" season 3 is set to air next year. The show will wrap up its second season Saturday, March 28 at 9 P.M. on Starz. In the season finale, "an unlikely ally comes to Flint's aid, Vane's crew wants a change, and Silver makes a sacrifice."
