Suge's lawyer Matthew Fletcher says his client is blind in his left eye as a result of glaucoma and didn't see Terry who was on his left side during the incident.

AceShowbiz - Suge Knight is defending himself over the hit and run incident which killed Terry Carter. The music mogul's lawyer Matthew Fletcher tells TMZ that his client is blind in his left eye because of glaucoma, a side effect of diabetes.

Matthew explains that Suge "didn't have a clear view of his left side, which may have prevented him from turning left, which would have allowed him to escape down the street" during the incident. In the surveillance video, Terry was on Suge's left side when the music mogul drove his truck back with high speed and struck both Terry and Cle "Bone" Sloan.

Matthew also tells the site that he plans to use George Zimmerman-type defense in Suge's murder trial, saying that his client had the legal right to kill Terry. He points to a California jury instruction which says, "[Suge] is entitled to stand his ground and defend himself if reasonably necessary, to pursue an assailant until the danger of death or bodily injury has passed."

Suge alleges Terry and Cle were plotting to attack him as he drove his truck into Tam's Burger parking lot. The former Death Row Records CEO says he heard Terry say something to the effect of, "Should I shoot him?" He also believed Terry and Cle were both gang members.

Matthew says Terry's alleged threat is enough to justify Suge running him over. He insists that his client accidentally hit Terry but he had legal right to kill him.
