Ali Fedotowsky, Emily Maynard, Sean Lowe and his wife Catherine Giudici are some of the 'Bachelor' franchise alums who are against the idea of having both Britt and Kaitlyn as the Bachelorettes.

AceShowbiz - "The Bachelorette" latest twist has prompted negative reactions from formers stars of the reality dating show franchise. The producers' effort to boost the show's ratings by casting both Britt Nilsson and Kaitlyn Bristowe as the Bachelorettes for the next season is slammed by the likes of Ali Fedotowsky, Emily Maynard and Desiree Hartsock.

Ali, who was featured in the first season of "The Bachelor" before becoming the sixth Bachelorette, tweeted shortly after the announcement, "The more I think about it, I can't help but be upset about ABC choosing 2 #Bachelorettes. It's going to be so hurtful to both girls."

Emily, star of "The Bachelorette" season 8, said as a viewer she liked the idea of having two Bachelorettes at the same time, but "as a woman, I kind of hate it." Desiree from season 9 said she's rooting for Kaitlyn, but added, "Not going to lie... I'm a bit confused by 2 bachelorettes. Put girls against each other!? Don't we already get enough of that."

Former "Bachelorette" contestant Sean Lowe, who also starred in "The Bachelor" season 17, and his wife Catherine Giudici are also against the idea. Catherine tweeted, "Excuse me while I shake my head all night." Sean agreed, posting on his own Twitter, "Judging by the hundreds of tweets I'm seeing, no one likes this duel bachelorette idea. Also, @clmgiudici thinks it's disgusting."

On his blog, he wrote a lengthy post explaining how disadvantaging the situation would be for the two women. "One of these poor girls is going to suffer the same rejection she suffered the first go around. And ... get this ... on the first episode," he wrote, "The first night only allows for very brief conversations, and it's really hard to get to know anyone in that amount of time. Basically, the guys will be left to choose based on looks for the most part."

"It's downright degrading for the women ... for the two chosen and the women watching at home," so the former football player added. "This move transfers the power back to the men on the show specifically designed for the women. As one Tweet said, 'Once again, you'll have women competing for the attention of men.' "
