'Empire' 1.05 Preview: Marriage Proposal and Gunshot
TV

Lucious is engaged to Grace, Cookie believes someone tries to kill her, and Hakeem gets into a fight.

AceShowbiz - Wedding bell is going to ring on "Empire". A preview for the next episode of FOX's new hit series teases a proposal as Lucious gets down on his knee and asks for Grace's hand in marriage. They're going to throw a party to celebrate it and Cookie doesn't look happy though she mutters, "Congratulation," and raises her glass for the couple.

Back to business, Lucious takes charge of Hakeem's first video shoot. He's going to clash with his son Trai who complains that the video costs $1 million over the budget. Hakeem, meanwhile, gets into a fight after being accused of trying to ruin his rival's career by ordering a shot at a private event.

Cookie is determined to help Jamal's song enter the chart while at the same time she's worrying about her safety. She believes someone tries to kill her as she receives an anonymous gift from an admirer that she believes might be a veiled threat from a person from her prison past.

"Dangerous Bonds" airs Wednesday, February 4 at 9/8c on FOX.

Taraji P. Henson who plays Cookie says her character is looking for closure in her relationship with Lucious. "It's unfinished business!" she tells The Hollywood Reporter. "When there's no closure there's always questions, so if anything, she has questions. Does she love him? Abso-f***ing-lutely. She did 17 years for him. Absolutely, that's a no brainer [that] she has a deep love for him. She has three boys with him, and that will never change."

She continues, "Let's be real here: this woman went away 17 years ago with mad love for that man. That doesn't go away. She wouldn't have gone away if she didn't have that love for him. And I can understand her pain - I can understand her snitching to get out - [because] it was 17 years, and he didn't come to visit her? She did this for them; she went away for them; and he didn't give her any closure."
