Los Angeles prosecutors have concluded that Judy's claim that the 77-year-old comedian sexually assaulted her at the Playboy Mansion in 1974 surpassed the statute of limitations.

AceShowbiz - Bill Cosby will not be charged over Judy Huth's lawsuit. On Tuesday, December 16, Los Angeles prosecutors declined to file any charges against the comedian because the case was too old and surpassed the statute of limitations.

"Given that 40 years have passed since the alleged incident, prosecution... is declined due to the expiration of the statue of limitations," the prosecutors said in a court document. "Therefore, prosecution today for any potential felony sex crime from 1974 would also be barred."

According to the prosecutors, the statute of limitations at the time of the alleged incident was three years. They also said that the laws back then would only have made the crime a misdemeanor.

Judy filed the lawsuit against Bill earlier this month. In her lawsuit, she claimed the comedian molested her in a bedroom of the Playboy Mansion in 1974 when she was 15. Bill's lawyer Martin Singer later fired back to Judy's lawsuit, claiming she's lying and filed the lawsuit after failing to extort $250,000 from him.

In other news, Bill's youngest daughter Evin Cosby defended her father in a new statement obtained by Access Hollywood on Tuesday. "He is the FATHER you thought you knew. 'The Cosby Show' was my today's tv reality show. Thank you. That's all I would like to say :)," the statement read.

Evin also took to Facebook on Monday to show her support after her mother Camille released a statement regarding her father's scandal. "Love my mom," she posted along with Camille's statement.

Bill's accuser Barbara Bowman also issued a statement to the Access Hollywood as a response to Camille's statement. "I can't imagine the torment, anguish and deep disappointment Camille Cosby must be experiencing now," Barbara wrote, "As she comes to terms with the raw reality of what her husband has caused as his partner of 50 years, she must be shedding tears for her family and for other families across this nation. Bill Cosby is not the man I thought I knew."
