The web streaming service will release the documentary executive produced by the 'Great Gatsby' actor about endangered gorillas in Congo on November 7.

AceShowbiz - Netflix is partnering with Leonardo DiCaprio to release documentary "Virunga". The film directed by Orlando von Einsiedel will arrive simultaneously November 7 in New York and Los Angeles theaters and on the web streaming service.
The documentary focuses on a group of park rangers in Africa's oldest national park as they try to protect endangered gorillas from poachers and militia. DiCaprio serves as an executive producer on the documentary.
"Leo intuitively understands that there is nothing like the power of film to reach people's hearts and minds," says Netflix chief content officer Ted Sarandos in a statement. "With 'Virunga', we'll work with Leo to introduce viewers around the world to an incredible, gripping story that will have audiences guessing right up until the final act."
DiCaprio also states, "Films like 'Virunga' are powerful stories that are a window into the incredible cultural and natural diversity of our world, the forces that are threatening to destroy it, and the people who are fighting to protect it. Partnering with Netflix on this film is an exciting opportunity to inform and inspire individuals to engage on this topic."
Netflix recently secured the rights to release the "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" sequel, "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon: The Green Legend, on August 28, 2015, the same day it opens in select Imax theaters. The company has also signed a deal with Adam Sandler, under which the actor will develop and produce four films that will be available exclusively on Netflix.
