LFO's Mark Bell Dies of Surgery Complication

The British music producer passed away at the age of 43 from a complication after a surgery.

AceShowbiz - Mark Bell, a member of the pioneering music group LFO, passed away from a complication after a surgery last week. He was 43. His label Warp Records announced the sad news on Monday, October 13.

Warp said in a statement posted on their website, "It's with great sadness that we announce the untimely passing of Mark Bell of LFO who died last week from complications after an operation. Mark's family & friends request privacy at this difficult time." No other details were revealed.

Following the news of Mark's death, Bjork, who has worked with him on numerous albums including 1997's "Homogenic", paid tribute to the late musician by posting on her Facebook a link to LFO's track "Love Is the Message."

Fellow electronic music producer Machinedrum tweeted, "RIP Mark Bell. His work has always been an inspiration, total amazing balance of intensity and lush melodic atmospheres. So tragic :(." Fellow Warp labelmate Mark Pritchard, meanwhile, posted, "Mark Bell - Thanks for all the Bass and wicked music," along with a link to LFO's track "Freeze".

Mark, who founded LFO with Gez Varley in 1988, also worked with Depeche Mode for their album "Exciter" in 2001.
