The 'Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D-List' star is reportedly among male and female comedians considered to replace the late comedienne on the E! show.

AceShowbiz - Kathy Griffin is circling a co-hosting gig on E!'s "Fashion Police". Rumors have been floating around the web that the Emmy-winning star will replace her good friend Joan Rivers on the talk show since the veteran comedienne's death and The Hollywood Reporter has now confirmed it.

According to the site, Griffin is in serious contention to fill the huge shoes left by Rivers, but there are other male and female comedians being considered for the part as well. It's also noted that no formal conversations have been held with anyone since E! thinks it's too early to make the decision after Rivers' passing.

Previously, Page Six reported that Griffin campaigned for the gig while Rivers was in a coma, but a source called the story "ridiculous."

E! has announced that "Fashion Police" will continue without Rivers. "We decided, with Melissa Rivers' blessing, that Joan would have wanted the franchise to continue. Fashion Police will return in 2015 commencing with Golden Globes coverage on Monday, January 12," the network stated earlier this month, "No further details will be announced at this time."
