The Muppets kick off the show with a musical number before the show announces the six acts who move into the finals.

AceShowbiz - "America's Got Talent" is only one week away before naming the winner of season 9. On Wednesday, September 10, the Top 12 were cut down to 6 acts who will compete for the grand prize in next week's finals.

The latest episode opened with a musical number by The Muppets in a funny sketch, which featured host Nick Cannon being tied to a chair by Miss Piggy after he didn't give her a chance to perform on the show.

After recap of Tuesday's performances, the first batch of finalists were announced and they are singer Emily West and team of acrobats AcroArmy. Jackie Evancho entertained the crowd with a performance of "Think of Me" and judges Heidi Klum and Melanie Brown a.k.a. Mel B teamed up with Miss Piggy to sing "It's Raining Men" before child singer Quintavious Johnson and magician Mat Franco were sent through to the finals.

In a twist, the fifth and sixth most voted acts didn't automatically score a place in the finals. Producers introduced the Snapple Save, in which the fifth, sixth and seventh top acts, which were Sons of Serendip, Miguel Dakota, and Emil and Dariel in no particular order, were up for the last two spots in the Top 6.

Viewers voted to save Sons of Serendip, while the judges who got to chose the other finalist were divided between Miguel and Emil & Dariel, so it went back to America's vote to decide the sixth finalist. The last spot eventually went to Miguel Dakota.

The remaining six acts will perform Tuesday, September 16 at 9 P.M., and the final results will be announced the next day. The show airs on NBC.
