DJ E-Z Rock of 'It Takes Two' Fame Dies at 46


A spokesperson for his friend and collaborator Rob Base confirms the death of the 'It Takes Two' fame, but the cause of death is not revealed.

Rodney Bryce a.k.a. DJ E-Z Rock, who is popular with his 1988's song "It Takes Two" with Rob Base, passed away on Sunday, April 27 at the age of 46. According to Rolling Stone, his death was confirmed by a spokesperson for Base. The cause of death was not revealed.

Base additionally took to Facebook to share the sad news. "R.I.P. Skip (DJ EZ Rock) friends since 4Th grade I'm really going to miss you," he wrote. Other hip-hop artists also mourned Rock's death on social media. "R.I.P. to EZ Rock from Rob Base and EZ Rock. You will truly be missed," Biz Markie tweeted.

"We Have Lost Our Very Own From Harlem NYC & The Hip-Hop Culture Our Brother DJ E-Z Rock. Rest In Peace," DJ Red Alert added, while DJ Scratch shared an old photo of the duo on his Instagram.

Rock and Base became friends when they were kids. The duo then released their first project "DJ Interview" in 1986, but they only became popular following the release of "It Takes Two" which peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard Hot Dance/Club Songs chart. The song was sampled in the works of some stars such as Snoop Dogg, Ciara and Girl Talk. It was also featured in Sandra Bullock's comedy flick "The Proposal".
