The President of the Miami Marlins Major League Baseball team, a former NBA star and an ex-NFL cheerleader are among the 18 brand-new castaways to compete in the 28th season of the reality series.
CBS has announced the cast of "Survivor: Cagayan: Brawn vs. Brains vs. Beauty". The upcoming 28th season of the reality show will feature 18 brand-new contestants. This will be the first time "Survivor" does not feature any returning players since 2012's "One World".
The castaways will be split into three tribes of six based on dominant attribute: athleticism, intelligence and attractiveness. Despite their "distinguishing qualities," each tribe has a player with a significant sports background.
David Samson, current president of the Miami Marlins Major League Baseball team, is on the Brains Tribe (Luzon). Former NBA All-Star player Cliff Robinson joins the Brawn Tribe (Aparri), and Morgan McLeod, who was selected to the San Francisco 49ers cheerleading squad when she was still in high school, will compete on the Beauty Tribe (Solana).
A professional poker player, two police officers, a horse trainer, a nuclear engineer, a martial arts instructor and Miss Kentucky Teen USA are also among this year's cast.
The new edition of "Survivor" premieres with a special two-hour episode on Wednesday, February 26 at 8/7c on CBS. The show returns to the Cagayan province of the Philippines, where the previous installment, "Blood vs. Water", was filmed.
