The 'Alice in Wonderland' director was seen in an intimate moment with a lady who wasn't his partner Helena Bonham Carter.
Filmmaker Tim Burton has long been identified with his partner, actress Helena Bonham Carter. So for him to be spotted sharing an intimate kiss with a different woman outside a Hampstead, London movie theatre in late September instantaneously sparked speculations that the "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" director might be cheating on his longtime domestic partner.
The shocking snapshots were taken as Burton and his mystery companion were walking back to their car, stopping in a dark alley to share an embrace and a kiss. The series of photographs also included shots of the twosome heading into the cinema, dressing casually to enjoy a screening of "The Wicker Man".
Burton and Bonham Carter not only share a 12-year relationship but also have two children together, Billy and Nell, with whom they attended an event back in March. A few days before that, the couple appeared in a Save the Children fundraiser, still looking very much together despite the fact that they live in two separate houses joined by a hallway.
After the photos surfaced, Bonham Carter has been reached for her reaction but has refused to comment on the alleged indiscretion. On Thursday, she was spotted in North London getting off a friend's car, looking disheveled and tired, but there's no clear indication if her sullen appearance has anything to do with the cheating rumors.
