August 22, 2006 09:08:46The adventure, action, comedy "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest" was the big winner at this year Teen Choice Awards, held Sunday August 20th in Los Angeles.
Nabbing seven awards all at once, the highly anticipated movie won the categories of Choice Movie, Action Adventure; Choice Movie Actor, Drama/Action Adventure for Johnny Depp; Choice Rumble; Choice Drama / Action: Adventure Movie of the Summer; Choice Sleazebag for Bill Nighy; Choice Hissy Fit and also Choice Scream which both were given to Keira Knightley.

The 2006 Empire Awards Winners

Approvingly, the action adventure flick has at Empire Magazine's film awards held Monday March 13th, 2006, been named Best Film of 2005, beating the Oscar winner "Crash" which also is nominated for the same category.
Despite such fact, the racial drama mystery movie brings home at least one award for the category of Best Actress which goes to Thandie Newton. In pair to her, Johnny Depp is named Best Actor thanks to his portrayal in the adventure fantasy "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory".

Films Competing for the FX Oscar
December 19, 2005 01:12:15The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has on Dec 16 announced the 7th films competing for Achievement in Visual Effects for the 78th Academy Awards. Among those are "Batman Begins," "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory," "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe," "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire," "King Kong," "Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith," and "War of the Worlds."
Those seven films will have their fifteen-minute clip reels screened for the Visual Effects Award Nominating Committee on Wednesday, January 25, 2006. Members will then vote to decide three out of the 7th films for Oscar consideration.

August 10, 2005 09:08:46No longer reigning the throne at US box office, the 'Chocolate' still tastes sweet. Earnings to 19.4 million pounds in total, "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" tops UK box office for a second week, followed by the animated adventure "Madagascar" in second place with 18,7 million pounds. Meanwhile, romantic comedy "Wedding Crashers" moves up one slot to third, while "Fantastic Four" falls to fourth.
The later film securing the top 5 is "Herbie: Fully Loaded" with 9,7 million pounds. Rounding the Top 10 in sequence is "War Of The Worlds," "Stealth," "The Devil's Rejects," "The Skeleton Key," and "The Descent."

The "Chocolate Factory" Seized Market

Pictures' "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" has amazingly seized public market, taking in $56.2 million, led the weekend movie list. Opening in second place was comedy "Wedding Crashers" with $33.9 million, while 20th Century Fox's "Fantastic Four" slipped to No. 3 with $22.8 million.
Meanwhile, "War of the Worlds" could only conquer 4th position with $15.2 million. Came after was Warner Bros.' "Batman Begins" scoring $6 million and soon followed by Fox's "Mr. & Mrs. Smith" in sixth with $5.2 million. The rest Top 10 movies at North American theaters Friday through Sunday, including "Dark Water" in 7th with $4.6 million and "Herbie: Fully Loaded" at 8th with $3.6 million. July 12, 2005 09:07:28Hey listen, the "Chocolate Factory" has been opened Sunday in L.A. with an interesting story to be told to many. So watch and see what happen to "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory."
Opened Sunday afternoon at Grauman's Chinese Theater, the movie premiere was attended by many stars, including Johnny Depp, Britney Spears and husband Kevin Federline, Melanie Griffith, Martin Landau, Harry Hamlin, Jane Kaczmarek and her actor-husband Bradley Whitford.
