Olga Kurylenko Circles Yves Saint Laurent Biopic
Movie

The 'Quantum of Solace' actress is in talks to star in the Bertrand Bonello-directed pic about the French fashion designer.

AceShowbiz - Olga Kurylenko is eyeing a biopic as her next starring vehicle. Screen Daily learns that the Ukrainian-born actress, who recently starred alongside Tom Cruise in "Oblivion", is in negotiation for an undisclosed role in "Saint Laurent", which is set to begin shooting in October with Bertrand Bonello as the director and writer.

The movie, co-scripted by Thomas Bidegain, will focus on the French designer's fashion house and its 60s and 70s heyday as the most famous and innovative label in the world. Gaspard Ulliel will be the lead with Jeremie Renier as his partner, Pierre Berge, and Lea Seydoux as his muse and the house's accessories and jewellery designer, Loulou de la Falaise.

Eric and Nicolas Altmayer serve as producers, while Isabelle Grellat is set to executive produce. Production on the biopic is slated to run for 10 weeks in Paris and Marrakesh. Handling the international sales, Films Distribution will pre-sell at the Toronto International Film Festival.

Another look at the renowned fashion icon, who died at the age of 71 in June 2008, is also offered by director Jalil Lespert through his flick, "Yves Saint Laurent", which is acquired by The Weinstein Co. Lespert has claimed his version is the "official YSL film" thanks to Berge's support.

In Lespert's movie, the romantic relationship between Berge and Laurent takes center stage.
